1862 Jamaica Street mill destroyed by fire.

The 1890/1893 25" O.S. map here shows 'Phoenix Oil Mill' as a U-shaped building bounded by Jamaica Street on the west, Watkinson Street on the north, and Norfolk Street on the south. Queen's Dock was about 300 yards south west of the mill. Rumford Street was presumably the location of the head office, being in the heart of the commercial district, near the Royal Exchange and the Town Hall.
