. . . a native of Sweden, Mr. Bjorling came to England as a young man and had been engaged as a pump specialist in this country for about forty-five years. He had been a draughtsman with such firms as May and Mountain, John Fowler and Co, Leeds, Hayward, Tyler and Co, London, Joseph Evans, Wolverhampton, and Fielding and Platt, Gloucester, and other of the leading establishments. The last three years, during which he was res1dent at Littlehampton, he was with Messrs Duke and Ockenden, joining this firm primarily to develop a new type of pump of his own invention. He was the author of numerous books, treatises, and pamphlets upon his favourite subject of pumps, and had in his time contributed to many engineering and allied technical journals.
