Peter Rothwell (c1792-1849), iron founder
By 1814 was in partnership Dobson and Rothwell which built mules in Blackhorse Street; the partnership was dissolved the next year.
1828 One of the promoters of the Bolton and Leigh Railway
Established Union Foundry, Bolton in Black Horse Street with his son, subsequently Rothwell, Hick and Rothwell
1838 Peter Rothwell of Bolton-le-Moors, became a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.[1]
1849 Died in Glasgow. Of Sunning Hill, Bolton, the eminent Ironfounder, age 57.[2] He was a bachelor.[3]
