Peter Douglas
Peter Douglas was introduced to Peter Stuart, a Liverpool cooper and palm-oil merchant, and in 1847 they formed a partnership as coopers and palm-oil merchants. They prospered, built up a fleet of ships, and traded in a variety of commodities.
1883 Peter Douglas died aged 68 at his home in Grosvenor Road, Claughton on December 17th.
