1891 Obituary [1]

PETER BORRIE BLAIR was born at Stockton-on-Tees On 31st July 1858.

He served his apprenticeship under the tuition of his father, the managing director of the engineering works of Messrs. Blair and Co., in which he latterly acted as assistant manager and director.

Having made electricity his special study, he fitted up successfully and completely with the electric light about twenty large ocean-going vessels; and also had under his own control the lighting of the works of his firm, which is all clone by electricity.

His death took place on 15th January 1891, at the age of twenty-four.

He became a Member of this Institution in 1890.
