A well-known North Notts, wholesale and retail baker, Mr. Percy Lander, 15, Stanton-plaoe, Mansfield, died suddenly at his home today. He was 53, and leaves a widow and two daughters.
A native of Duffield, Mr. Lander had spent most of his life at Mansfield and was educated at the Rosemary street School. During the first world war, he served in the Army Ordnance Corps in France and the Middle East.
He entered the bakery trade on returning to civil life, first having a shop in Yorke-street, Mansfield Woodhouse. At the time of his death, Mr. Lander owned shops at Mansfield and East Kirkby.
He was a past president of Mansfield and Sutton Master Bakers’ Association, a member of the Forest Lodge of Freemasons, and a former member of the Sherwood Forest Golf Club
