1842 Born in Gorbals, son of Thomas Wingate and his wife Margaret Paterson[1]

1861 An engine master living with his parents in Partick[2]

1864 His father retired from Thomas Wingate and Co in favour of his sons - presumably Thomas, Andrew, Wilson and Patterson.[3]

1881 Paterson Wingate 38, retired shipbuilder, lived in Partick with Jessie C Wingate 26, Thomas P Wingate 6[4]

1891 Paterson Wingate 49, retired engineer and shipbuilder, lived in Govan with Jessie C Wingate 36[5]

1897 Died in Kelvinside, Glasgow[6]
