Patrick Fraser (1853-1917) of Douglas Fraser and Sons

PATRICK FRASER was born at Arbroath on 19th August 1853.

He was educated at the High School, Arbroath, and subsequently studied at a school in Jena, Germany.

On his return to England in 1871 he entered the works in Arbroath of his father's firm, Messrs. Douglas Fraser and Sons, and became a partner three years later.

From 1883 he took an active part in its management and devoted his energies to developing their special productions, such as textile machinery, steam-engines, and millwright work, etc.

His death took place at Arbroath on 24th February 1917, in his sixty-fourth year.

He was elected a Member of this Institution in 1899.
