1874 The hotel was built for the business of Pratt and Keith, milliners, who occupied the street level

1891 The Great North of Scotland Railway became proprietors and introduced many modern features, including electric lighting

1941 The hotel was extensively damaged during a fire in which a number of the staff lost their lives. After the war, the building was demolished.
