The VULTURE was built by J. Aitken and Co., Glasgow, in 1864, but was not registered at Milford until 1881. Her length was 243.2 feet, beam 25.7 feet, and depth 17 feet; the registered tonnage was 793 gross and 461 net. The engines which were two cylinder oscillating were 54 in. by 60 in. stroke. The boiler pressure was 15 lb., n.h.p. 200.
