‘Cross-Channel and Coastal Paddle Steamers’ by George Frank Burtt

Amongst the pioneers of steam packets were the St George Steam Packet Co established in 1821 whose ramifications and steamboat services extended to Ireland, Scotland, the Isle of Man and North Wales.

The following is a copy of a sailing bill issued about the year 1828: — 'REDUCED Fares. To and From Beaumaris, Bangor, and Menai Bridge. The Prince Llewellyn Steam Packet Will leave Liverpool on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings, at Half-past Nine o’clock, and return from Menai Bridge on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at Nine. Apply at the St. George Steam Packet Offices, No. 21, Water Street, Liverpool, or Menai Bridge, or to Mr. Evan Jones, Grocer, Bangor. Printed by J. Tyerman, 35, Water Street.'
