PS Majestic
The MAJESTIC was built during 1816 at Ramsgate by Court and engined by Dixon (probably refers to Dickson). She was a vessel of 90 tons burthen with engines of 24 n.h.p. employed on the Margate-London service. The MAJESTIC did not limit her activities to passenger traffic, as it is related that on 28th August, 1816 she towed the East from Deptford to Woolwich at 3 miles (against) the wind, an achievement regarded as remarkable.[1]
N.B. this is probably also described as the Majesta.
