The LOCOMOTIVE built about 1840, by Ditchburn and Mare and engined by Braithwaite and Milner entirely on the plan of a locomotive high pressure boiler and engine. The exhaust was carried direct into the boiler funnel, causing similar beats to a locomotive; hence the boat’s name. She worked between London and Richmond and Hampton Court.
