The LIMERICK was a sister ship to the WATERFORD and had hurricane decks fore and aft and one funnel aft of the engines. These boats were almost identical in design and appearance. Like her immediate predecessors, she was built at Renfrew in 1874, and was 251.8 ft. long, 29.2 ft. beam, and 15.2 ft. depth of hold. The n.h.p. of engines was 400 and the tonnage 442 net and 914 gross.[1]
