1876 The London Steamboat Co acquired two steamboats named LALLA ROOKH and WAVERLEY, although neither of these boats appears in the Mercantile Navy List prior to 1875, except that in 1865 the LALLA ROOKH is shown as then owned by S. D. Sassoon, London. Both were built in 1846 at Blackwall, and were of the following dimensions: —

  • LALLA ROOKH 106.8 x 12.4 x 6.1; gross tons 50; N.H.P. 24; Iron. Remained in service until 1879
  • WAVERLEY 109 x 12.6 x 6.2; gross tons 52; N.H.P. 24; Iron. Disposed of in 1877 to G. A. Cape, London.
