We regret to have to record the death on June 16th of Mr. P. S. Turner, a vice-chairman of Associated Electrical Industries, Ltd., a director of Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Company, Ltd., and of the British Thomson-Houston Company, Ltd., and chairman of Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Export Company, Ltd., of the Edison Swan Electric Company, Ltd., of Edison Swan Cables, Ltd., and of Ferguson Pailin, Ltd. Mr. Turner joined the Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Company in 1903, and for many years devoted his energies to the development of electric traction in t his country and abroad. The scope of his activities was widened when he was appointed special director in 1927 and general sales director of the company in 1931. In 1942 he was appointed assistant managing director of Associated Electrical Industries, Ltd. In addition to these appointments he was at the time of his death Immediate Past-Chairman of the British Electrical and Allied Manufacturers' Association.
