Philip Arnold Anthony (1873-1949)

1873 Born in Plymouth the son of Frederick E. Anthony, Professor of Classics and Maths, and his wife Elizabeth

1898 Married. 'Philip Arnold Anthony, C.E., youngest son of Rev. Professor Anthony. M.A., J.P., Plymouth, and grandson the late Mr. Phillip Marrack, banker, Penzance, to Edith Mary, daughter of Mr. John of Plymouth.'[1]

1901 Living at Higher House, West Lydford, Shepton Mallet: Philip A. Anthony (age 28 born Plymouth), Civil Engineer. With his wife Edith M. Anthony (age 27 born Plymouth. One servant.[2]

Commissioner on the “Railway Inquiry Commission” for South Australian Railways and submitted three progress reports between August 1918 and late November the same year.

1918 Awarded C.M.G. Philip Arnold Anthony, general manager of the Federated Malay States Railways.[3]

1922 General Manager and Chief Engineer of the Federated Malay State Railways

1949 July 16th. Died. Of Millmead, Otford, Kent. Probate to his wife Edith Mary.
