1937 Odeon Theatres Limited became a public company
1939 J. Arthur Rank joined the board of Odeon Theatres Ltd[1]
1941/2 Rank gained control; Odeon owned some 300 cinemas each.[2]
1947 The new name J. Arthur Rank Organisation was used to describe the organisation which included Odeon Theatres Ltd, Gaumont British Picture Corporation and many subsidiary and associated companies[3]
1955 Company name changed from Odeon Theatres Limited to Rank Organisation Ltd[4] which included Odeon Associated Theatres Ltd and Odeon Properties Ltd
