1798 The works were founded

1872 Formed into the Llynvi Tondu and Ogmore Coal and Iron Co. The company subsequently went into liquidation.

1889 the property was purchased by Colonel North for £350,000 who abandoned the iron works. He converted the undertaking into a coal company: North's Navigation Collieries (1889) Ltd[1].
