Noel Penny Turbines of Coventry, designer and manufacturer of small gas turbines.

1972 Founded by Noel Penny. Edwin Ponsford was chairman

1973 The company had recruited specialists from Rolls-Royce, Lucas and British Leyland Gas Turbines[1]

1975 Acquired David Budworth Ltd from receivership, another pioneer of small gas turbines[2]

1982 In a decade the company had grown from a dozen employees to 265, of whom nearly a third were graduates engaged in small gas turbine R and D. In 1982 the company was working for several US corporations and the US army. They also worked for Japan and Germany on different projects.[3]
