Noel Hogman was born in 1911, and received his technical training at The Automobile Engineering Training College, Chelsea. On the conclusion of his course at the College he embarked on a two years' course at the Technical School of De Havilland Aircraft Co., Ltd., which was, however, brought to a premature conclusion by his untimely death on 3rd June, 1935, at the age of 23.

He was elected a Student of the Institution in 1930 and was transferred to Graduate in 1931.
