1974 The No-Sag Spring Co (Great Britain) Ltd changed its name to Hoover Ball and Bearing Co (UK) Ltd, a subsidiary of an American company of similar name[3]

1980 Renamed Hoover Universal (UK) Ltd

By 1989 owned 49 percent of Ikeda Hoover; during the year acquired 42 percent of JRI Technologies Ltd. Was a subsidiary of Johnson Controls Inc of USA[4]
