1898 At the Matthieson works, which were making alkali and bleach by the Castner-Kellner process, 2000-horse power of electrical machinery were in use, and another 2000 about to be absorbed at the start of 1899[1].
1890 Acquired by United Alkali Co.
1915 Amalgamated with Golding, Davis works to form Marsh works.
From 1930 was part of Gaskell, Marsh works
Later part of ICI General Chemicals Division
