Newington Engineering

From Graces Guide

of North London

"In 1963 I started my working career with a company called Newington Engineering in North London, making and renovating push bikes. The trade name was "Toledo", engineered by 'Bill Bown'. I remember him talking about designing gear boxes for motorbikes and had produced a bike called "The Bown Special". If this is the same Mr. Bown as on your records, he would have been an elderly gent in '63, but was still designing and producing jigs and the like to produce a child's bike called "The Pavemaster". I'm convinced this is the same man, and hope the information is of some help to update your information [1]
