1888 Partnership change. '... the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Nathaniel Fish, James Cooper, Richard Hitchen, and Matthew Duckworth, carrying on business as Cotton Manufacturers, at Hanover-street Mill and Vale Brook Mill, both situate at Spring Vale, within Over Darwen, in the county of Lancaster, under the style or firm of Nathaniel Fish and Company, has been dissolved, by mutual consent, as and from the 31st day of March, 1888. All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid by the said Nathaniel Fish.'[1]

1891 Directory (Darwen): Listed as Cotton spinner and manufacturers. Hanover Street Mill, Darwen; 221 looms, shirtings and jacconettes.[2]
