1884 Death of Nicholas Kilvert, Lard Refiner, who resided at the Lodge, Ashton-on-Mersey, in the county of Chester, and carried on business as Nicholas Kilvert and Sons, at Mark-lane, Withy-grove, Manchester. Passes to his sons George Kilvert, Nicholas Kilvert and Harry Vernon Kilvert.[1]

1887 Exhibited packages of Lard, patent grease-proof boxes, and other specialities. Hermetically sealed tins.

1960 Acquired by Lloyd's Packing Warehouses.[2]

c.1961 Acquired Turtle Wax

1971 Added marketing of Duerr preserves and pickles to the existing range of cooking oil and lard[3]

1975 Formed the Kilvert Division of Holt Lloyd International
