Moorwood-Vulcan

1961 Company incorporated as a joint venture between Moorwood and Vulcan-Hart Corporation of USA to design and manufacture cooking and heating appliances using gas, oil or steam

1965 Became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brightside Engineering Holdings Ltd

Until the late sixties had been located at Harleston Street in Sheffield. The offices moved to premises referred to as 'Greens of Ecclesfield' then were consolidated with the production facility at Butterthwaite Lane in Ecclesfield by mid 1971.

1971 June: Jessel Securities acquired Brightside Holdings including its subsidiary Moorwood-Vulcan[1]

1971 Became part of the new company Newhome-Veritas Ltd.

Medium size production unit making bespoke commercial and industrial kitchens incorporating a standard range of ovens, salamander grills and bain-maries for schools and colleges (LASMEC range) and for ships, both warships and mercantile marine. In the late sixties had supplied Cunard with the galley for the new Queen Elizabeth II cruise liner. [2]
