Monmouthshire Railway

The Monmouthshire Railway was sanctioned in 1845, which authorised the Monmouthshire Canal Co to alter its tramways and, in particular the section of its Eastern Valleys line lying between Newport and Pontypool into railway suitable for use with locomotive power.[1]

1868 Engineer is Robert B. Sayer; Loco Supt is R. Layborne.[2]
