Middleboro Rolling Mill (USA)

From Graces Guide

of Middleboro, Mass.

This was the earliest iron rolling mill in America. Built in 1751 for Judge Peter Oliver, originally from Birmingham, England, who evidently obtained special permission to import and use the machinery. The mill was still working in 1818. See 1881 article in the 'American Machinist' for more information and drawings [1]
