1937 Articled to N. Lea and Son, Stock Brokers, Birmingham.

WWII Sergeant Pilot R.A.F.V.R., commissioned R.A.F. 1940, Director M.A.P. Film Unit, 1944.

1945 Sales Director, Christie-Tyler, transport seating manufacturers.

Took up Motor Racing.

1949 Founded Plexeal Ltd.

By 1959 Chairman and Managing Director, Alexander Engineering Co., Ltd.; Michael Christie Motors, Ltd., Bicester Road, Aylesbury; The Thame Engineering Co. (Oxon). Ltd.; Lotus Sales, Haddenham, Bucks; and Alexander Engineering (Marine), Ltd., Haddenham, Bucks.
