1934 Description of a large electromagnet made to the order of Professor A. Blackett of the University of London. It would generate a flex density of 10,000 gauss continuously in an air gap 15 cm. long between pole faces 25 cm. in diameter, when working at its normal rating of 6.25 kW. This power could be increased to 25 kW for special purposes. It was to be used to measure the deviation of cosmic rays in the magnet field.[1]
