1897 Registered to construct a railway of 3ft 6in gauge from Umtali, the terminus of the Beira Railway, to Salisbury - a distance of 170 miles.

1910 Officers - Charles Wibberley, Manager in Rhodesia; C. Corner, Resident Engineer (Bulawayo); W. J. Hosgood, Locomotive Superintendent (Umtali); Sir Douglas Fox and Partners, (London), and Sir Charles Metcalfe, (South Africa), Consulting Engineers.[1]
