1968 Scunthorpe Rod Mill Ltd was renamed GKN Distributors Ltd, which was formed to amalgamate the distribution interests of GKN and to acquire Davis and Timmins Ltd, W. Galloway and Co Ltd, GKN (Northern Ireland) Ltd and John Lysaght (Services) Ltd, Macnays Ltd, Nettlefold and Moser Ltd and other companies controlled by GKN involved in distribution.

1969 Macnays Ltd was a service centre specialising in steel tubes[3]

1976 GKN Distributors Ltd was renamed Macnays Ltd

1983 Name changed to Sankey Laminations Ltd, another subsidiary of GKN
