Macknight (Motors)
1933 MacKnight and Ridd Limited was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £1,000, to acquire and carry on the business of garage proprietors and motor and general maintenance engineers carried on by Donald Frederick Ridd and Ian Gray MacKnight at York Place, Dumfries.[1] By 1939 the company's name had changed to MacKnight (Motors) Limited.
1977 The company, which by now had changed its name to David Gardiner Motors Limited, went into voluntary liquidation.[2]
