Waverley Mills, Hawick, Scotland

1912 Macdonald and Gibb Limited was registered as a private company, with capital of £12,000, to acquire by purchase the business some time carried on by the firm of Ballantyne, Tait and Co, woollen and worsted manufacturers, Hawick.[1]

1930 In April the company went into voluntary liquidation.[2] It was later reported that Dr. Oliver, of the Galashiels Technical College, had purchased Waverley Mills, formerly the property of Macdonald and Gibb, to be used for the instruction of students and for textile engineering experiments.[3] A new private company of the same name was registered, with capital of £1,000, to acquire and carry on the business of Macdonald and Gibb.[4]

1984 The company was struck off and dissolved.[5]
