M. A. M. El Kadeem, BSc, PhD, received his early engineering education in Egypt and later went on to Manchester College of Technology to work on the fatigue of metals with Dr Lamble, obtaining his PhD for this work. On his return to Egypt he became Professor in the Faculty of Engineering Production Division of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Alexandria University. At present he is Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering, University of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
