1873 Prospectus: '... This Company is formed for the purpose of purchasing, from Mr. Franklin Wrigley, Long Meadow Mill, and the premises thereto belonging, situate in Market-street, in Hyde, and for working the mill, and carrying on the business of cotton spinning and manufacturing. .... The steam engines, all of which are in good condition, consist of two high-pressure horizontal engines, of 25 nominal horse power each, built by Goodfellow, and a condensing beam engine, of 80 nominal horse power, built by Peel, Williams, & Peel, and the total horse power indicated by the three engines is 400, ...'[1]
