1903 Fire at the premises.[1]

1935 Fire at the premises. Over 100 families evacuated from adjoining tenements.[2]

1937 'TWINE WORKS. The fire first broke out at the premises of the London Spinning Co., Ltd., twine makers, and soon the tar distillery was involved, despite the efforts of the crews of 40 engines and escapes with water towers. A large area of South-East London was lit up for several hours by the flames. Thousands of people left their beds to go to the scene, and a large force of police as drafted into district to keep back the crowds. Children living in houses nearby were hastily snatched from their beds, wrapped in blankets, and carried out, but the brigade were able to prevent the flames from reaching the dwellings.'[3]

1951 Share issue for the London Spinning Co.. makers of hard fibre ropes cords and nets.[7] Established nearly half a century ago, it makes ropes, twines, cords and nets.[8]

1967 Take-over bid by British Ropes.[9] A £525,000 takeover bid for the London Spinning Co., makers of ropes, twines, cords and nets, was announced last night by British Ropes.[10]
