1865 The establishment was licensed by the Board of Trade for the testing of chain cables, chains, and anchors

Subsequent enlargements and the addition of more powerful machinery, to meet the requirements of acts of parliament, and of the rapidly developed chain, cable, and anchor trade of the district, made it the largest and most complete of proving house in the country.

1881 Company incorporated[1]

1894 Henry Green was appointed superintendent of the proving house at Netherton[2]

1900 Became part of Lloyd's British Testing Co
