Llanvihangel Railway
1811 This line was sanctioned May 25th, 1811, by 51 Geo. III., c. 113. Initial plans were drawn up by William Crosley
1811 John Hodgkinson surveyed the line; he took on responsibility for the extension to Llangua (the Grosmont Railway)[1]
1814 This 3ft 6in. gauge line was opened. The line was 6.25 miles long running from the Brecknock and Abergavenny Canal at Llanwenarth in a north-easterly direction to Llanvihangel, from where its extension was built as the Grosmont Railway.[2]
In 1846 the lines were absorbed by the Newport, Abergavenny and Hereford Railway (NA&HR)
