1859 Born in Crieff, son of John Frederick La Trobe Bateman and his wife Anne Fairbairn; name recorded as Lee La Trobe Bateman[1]

1883 His father assumed by royal licence the prefix, surname, and arms of La Trobe, as a compliment to his grandfather.

1888 Went into partnership with his father as consulting engineers, Bateman, Parsons and Bateman

1937 Died in Marylebone, London
