1894 'NOTICE is hereby given that the PARTNERSHIP heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned ARTHUR RUTHERFORD and DAVID HOLMES, carrying on business as Gas Engine Makers and General Engineers, under the style or firm of the Lancashire Gas Engine and Engineering Company, in the County of Lancaster, has been DISSOLVED by mutual consent, as and from the first day of April one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four. And further notice is hereby given that the said businesses will, as from the said first day of April one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four be carried on by the said Arthur Rutherford and the undersigned Harry Rutherford, under the said style or firm, and all debts due to, and all debts due from, the said firm, will be received and paid by the said Arthur Rutherford and Harry Rutherford..... 1897 'FAILURES IN MANCHESTER AND ASHTON-UNDER-LYNE. ... An order has also been made in the Ashton County Court against Arthur Rutherford, of Bass-street, who carried on business as a gas engine maker, under the style Lancashire Gas Engine Company, in Park-street, Ashton-under-Lyne.' [2]
