Lewis Henry Dawtrey (1900-1975), design engineer at Triumph

1900 April 15th. Born at Halifax the son of Edward Rawnsley Dawtrey and his wife.

1911 Residing at8 Clarence Terrace, Savile Town, Dewsbury: Edward Rawnsley Dawtrey (age 41 born Halifax), Superintendent in Life Assurance. With his wife Sarah Florence and three sons; Lewis Henry Dawtrey (age 10 born Halifax); Leslie Raymond Dawtrey (age 8 born Halifax); and Clifford Rawnsley Dawtrey (age 6 born Halifax).[1]

1926 Married at Atcham, Shropshire, to Ella M. Grosvenor

Lewis Dawtrey and Harry Webster led the design team for the Triumph slant-four engine

1975 Died at Northallerton.
