Kingsbury Aviation

From Graces Guide

of Kingsbury Works, Kingsbury Road, Hendon.

1917 Kingsbury Aviation Co was formed as a subsidiary to Barningham, machine tool engineers, to make aeroplanes and motor-cars. Kinsbury Works were established to house the company.

The company occupied 109 acres, including an airfield stretching from Church Lane across Jubilee park, and in 1918 it employed 800 people building aero engines.

As Kingsbury Engineering Co it tried to transfer to motor-car manufacture after the war but went into liquidation in 1921.
