Kennedy and Jenkin, later Kennedy and Donkin, consulting engineers, of Westminster
1889 Sir Alexander Kennedy established his consultant engineering practice focussed on electrical engineering.
1897 Sydney Bryan Donkin joined the business
1897 Kennedy and Bryan Donkin's tests on different types of boilers, initially published in Engineering, appeared as a book, "Experiments on Steam Boilers" (1897).
1899 Bernard Maxwell Jenkin became a partner; the firm became Kennedy and Jenkin
1908 Mr Sydney Bryan Donkin and Mr. John Macfarlane Kennedy became partners.
1913 The firm became Kennedy and Donkin. The business went onto focus on power generation and electricity distribution projects.
1921 Kennedy and Donkin prepared the specification for the Cossipore power station, Calcutta[1]
1930s Consultant engineer to the Central Electricity Board for the construction of the National Grid[2]
1933 Bryan Donkin (1903-1964) was taken on as a partner[3]
1934 Sydney Bryan Donkin became senior partner on the retirement of John MacFarlane Kennedy (1879-1954), son of the founder.
1947 Consultant engineers to the Egyptian Government for the construction of the Aswan Dam[4]
1948 With Sir Alexander Gibb and Partners, prepared specification for the Owen Falls hydro-electric scheme on the White Nile[5]
1949 Designed the Pimlico district heating scheme using heat from Battersea Power Station[6]
1952 Electrical consultants for the Glen Affric hydro-electric scheme in Scotland[7]
1960s Geoffrey Kennedy was the senior partner.
1982 Launched Kennedy and Donkin Systems Control.[8]
1994 Kennedy & Donkin was acquired by WMX Technologies Inc. and became Rust, Kennedy & Donkin.
1997 Rust, Kennedy & Donkin and Rust Consulting integrated their expertise
1998 The company was purchased by Parsons Brinckerhoff [9], becoming PB Kennedy and Donkin
