1889 Company established by Dr. Carl Kellner and Edward Partington, and incorporated as a limited company the same year. The company was registered on 16 May, to acquire the undertaking, assets and liabilities of The Barrow Chemical Wood Pulp Company, to manufacture, buy, sell and deal in chemical wood pulp, paper pulp, to carry on the business of paper pulp manufacturers and dealers, to utilise, work up and deal with all kinds of by-products and residues resulting from any of the company’s manufactures. First directors:- E Partington, Turn Lees, Glossop; C Kellner; T Briggs, 21 Major Street, Manchester; W J Crossley, Otto Gas Engine Works, Openshaw; and A H Strongitharm, Prior’s Lee, Barrow-in-Furness.[1]
1894 Producing 120 tons of high-class paper per week. [2]
1895 On the formation of Castner Kellner Co, C. Kellner, the inventor, was described as associated with Kellner Partington Pulp Co)[3].
1914 Pulp and paper manufacturers. [4]
