JOSEPH PRICE, born near Cockermouth on the 10th June, 1844, died at Wimbledon on the 25th March, 1913.
He served his apprenticeship to Messrs. Vicars, of Liverpool, and afterwards gained considerable experience as a marine engineer.
He then started in business as an ironmaster, first at Workington and subsequently at Liverpool, where he took over the Brunswick Foundry.
Coming later to London, he was associated with Le Grand and Sutcliff, artesian-well engineers, and for some years before his death engaged in consulting practice in Westminster.
Mr. Price was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 1st May, 1894.
