1804 born in Belfast on 26 December the youngest son of William Napier, a merchant of Belfast descended from the Napiers of Merchiston, Scotland, and Rosetta Macnaghten of Ballyreagh House, Co. Antrim
Napier had a long association with Trinity College and the University of Dublin.
