1911 Obituary 
JOSEPH JEX TAYLOR, born in London on the 11th July, 1851, died at Chiddingly, Sussex, on the 18th August, 1910.
Trained under the late Mr. J. McNair Harkness, he started consulting practice with Mr. B. J. Thomas, in 1887, and in this capacity he carried out many engineering works for the Regent’s and Grand Junction Canals, colliery and other railways in the Midlands and North, sewage-disposal works at Brightlingsea, and other undertakings.
He was elected a Member of The Institution on the 2nd December, 1902.
