1910 Obituary 
JOSEPH HARROP died at his residence, Brondeg, Pontardulais, on March 28, 1910.
He was for over twenty years managing director of the Grovesend Steel and Tinplate Works, a position he vacated only a short time before his death.
He was sixty-nine years of age, was a native of Manchester, and for forty years was prominently associated with the Welsh tinplate industry. With Mr. J. Benson he established the ironfounding business of Harrop & Benson at Pontardulais, and a few years later he constructed the Grovesend Steel and Tinplate Works.
He was a director of the Raven and Hendy Tinplate Company, Ltd., and a member of the executive committee of the Tinplate Manufacturers' Association.
He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1896.
